Introduction of Ignition Coils

It's obvious that the engine light will be on if have bad ignition coils. But other problems also will cause the engine to light on, so you need to use a computer to test what problem will cause the engine to light on. Bad ignition coils and their signal or circuit problems can be tested by a computer trouble code scanner. Different vehicle makers have different faulty codes. For example, the OBD-II scanner will show a P0351 ignition code.
For some vehicles that only use a single ignition coil as the spark source for all cylinders, it is especially obvious when the ignition coils are bad. Any bad coil will cause the engine no spark and fail to start.
Engine performance problem is the common symptom to bad ignition coils as they are the key component of ignition system. Bad ignition coils will cause spark reduction or no spark and quickly engine performance problems, such as misfiring, unstable idle, power and acceleration loss, gas mileage reduction.
